MIAMI ON SIGHT AT COLLINS PARK
Executive Production by Pangea Kali Virga
September 2019
Miami On Sight is a community-minded fashion show, celebrating the city and its people through showcasing emerging local designers in unique iconic Miami locations. Miami On Sight is a free recurring public event, highlighting the local Miami fashion scene amongst the backdrop of Miami’s most beautiful and exemplary locations. This local runway was formed to celebrate the city as a cultural whole while connecting the art and fashion scene with the general public.
The first annual Miami On Sight fashion show will be taking place in Collins Park, outside of the Bass Museum, on Sunday, September 29th, at 7:00PM accompanied by live music from Sol The Tribu performing on the sustainable Baba Yaga Arts Wagon. The runway will include both iconic Miami sculptures, Ugo Rondinone's neon Miami Mountain and the exquisite 1962 Albert Vrana Rotunda.
For our first annual runway, 16 local Miami designers and artists will each be given the opportunity to showcase 9 complete looks in collaboration with local shoe and accessory designers. The theme for our 2019 Miami On Sight Fashion Show is sustainability in fashion and features both established and emerging designers that incorporate sustainable practices in the production of their garments and accessories. All VIP seat ticket proceeds will benefit Habitat For Humanity of Greater Miami. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Miami is a local nonprofit organization that transforms lives and communities in Miami-Dade by providing low-income families with affordable home ownership opportunities.
